Ram joined the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) in November 2022 to oversee all climate change initiatives, venture fund of funds, innovation products and programs including direct investing in emerging companies, and strategic innovation center investing. Prior thereto, Ram was Managing Member and founder of Phoenix Capital Partners, a merchant banking boutique. During the same time, he was Managing Partner of ra Ventures, an early- stage venture fund in deep tech, battery technology and climate technologies.

He sponsored and served as President and Chief Strategy Officer of Phoenix India Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC). He also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Oriundus Asset Management Co., with $1.3 billion in assets under management across wind and biomass in Asia. Prior to that, he was Managing Director of Dover Finance Group, a structured financing boutique that was responsible for the issuance of $5.9 billion in new asset classes of securitization. Ram started his career in investment banking at various firms in the mergers & acquisition group. He holds an MBA with Distinction from Cornell University and is currently a PhD Finance Candidate at Bayes Business School in London.
